Quick Overview

By using this splicing needle you can greatly reduce the time needed to make a mono to dacron (Spectra) splice. Simply insert the mono inside the hollow needle, heat the needle slightly to hold the mono, and push the needle up inside the dacron (Spectra). Insert the mono with the attached needle about 12 ft. and then push the needle out through the dacron (Spectra) and cut off the needle. Pull the mono to tighten the dacron (Spectra). Make the first seizing where the mono ends inside the dacron (Spectra). Make additional seizings every three feet. Make the last seizing where the mono comes out of the dacron (Spectra). It is very important that this seizing overlaps by 1/2 inch both the dacron (Spectra) and the mono. You may wish to put a drop of super glue over the seizings for extra insurance.
